Body Armour Bike Leathers: A Necessity For Any Biker

Body armour bike leathers are one of the most important aspects about riding a bike, almost as important as the tyres and your bike helmet. If you should drop the front-end, be tagged by an unsuspecting motorist or become a cropper on mud or damp leaves, you need body armour bike leathers to save your skin and bones from damage. The beauty about body armour is it's strategically placed on the areas that would normally receive the most damage, for example, you have thicker elbow pads, shoulder pads and protection of your spine.

In sometime during your motorcycling career, you will probably fall off and if you don't or haven't then you're a lucky one. It bears no influence on your skill and ability of a motorcycle rider if you fall or not, often it's a mechanical error, road conditions or another driver that causes the accident. Motorbikers need to be constantly 'switched on' when riding a bike as they are at one with the elements. This heightens the mind but as ever, there are always the unthinkable acts that occur that end up with you on the road. And for that event, you need body armour bike leathers.

A motorcycle jacket protects the arms, chest and back, but body armour bike leathers cover 98% of your body with protective cow-hide and man-made materials. The mix of high-grade leather with kevlar or other strong, lightweight materials helps you slide safely on the road keeping the distance between your flesh and the road enough so you only come away with bumps and bruises, not needing a skin graft. With body armour bike leathers they can resist the wind-chill you get when cruising at high-speed and they keep your posture in check, thanks to the spinal support, which keeps you in the perfect riding position.

No biker wants to come off and ruin their fairings but it does happen in the same way as you'd buy an alarm but never want your bike stolen. It's a necessary cost that you need to factor in when you are looking to buy a motorbike. Similarly, you should set aside a chunk of your motorbike budget for a decent helmet. Body armour bike leathers and helmets go hand in hand, and neither should be scrimped upon. Look for bike leathers with reinforced padding around the knees, hips, elbows, back, shoulders and chest. That way, if you do fall off your bike, you can feel just that little bit safer and you might have the wind knocked out of you or have a few scrapes but at least you can walk away from the accident.

When you're out on the open road with only you and the bike around, you still need that helping hand of having body armour bike leathers. Without them you are risking your life and limbs, and all it takes is a car or a van driver to lapse in concentration and take you off the road. At least with body armour bike leathers you have a chance to get back on a bike again.
